Award-Winning Books Published by Us

Two books published by Peter E Randall Publisher have recently received awards in regional and national competitions.

Ghana, An African Portrait Revisited was one of three finalists in the coffee table/large format category for a Benjamin Franklin award given by the Publisher’s Marketing Association. One judge wrote, “Ghana An African Portrait Revisited is a lovely book. One can tell at a glance what the subject of the book is based on the clean, clear, enticing cover design…the endpapers were exceptional…the layout of all the interior pages is excellent…I encourage this publisher to continue to produce such high quality work.”

Edited by Peter E. Randall, and designed by Peter E. Randall and cover designer Grace Peirce, the book features the photographs of Randall, Nancy Grace Horton, Barbara Bickford, Charter Weeks, Tim Gaudreau, and Gary Samson, and the writing of Randall and Abena Busia. It was named one of the top photographs books of 2007 by Shutterbug magazine.

Strawbery Banke, A Seaport Museum 400 Years in the Making was a bronze medalist in the New England Museum Association’s annual book competition. Written by J. Dennis Robinson and designed by Grace Peirce and J. Dennis Robinson, the 400-page hard cover book was published in cooperation with Strawbery Banke Museum last fall and is now in its second printing.

Peter E. Randall Publisher, LLC, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has been publishing books since 1970. The company specializes in producing volumes of local history, but it is also known for its books of biography, memoir, poetry, and photography.
